Lucy Update: Month Seven

Seven Month Stats
Length: 27"
Weight: 16lbs, 2oz.
Likes: Army crawling, trying to real-crawl, the beach, friends, and going to work with mom.
Dislikes: Sitting. She is past the age of "sitting" and just isn't into it at all. It makes me laugh because she will stay in the "sit" position for approximately 5 seconds before she flips onto her tummy and army crawls away.
Nicknames: Lulu, Gooser, Lulubeans, Squishy.

This month Lucy did a lot of teething - with nothing to show for it. She slobbers and chews and gnaws and drips and yet there are no teeth to speak of. Poor little lady. Maybe next month she will have some chompers?
We took a little weekend vacation to Palm Springs to celebrate Grandma Kitty's 60th birthday! It was Lucy's first time out to the desert, and it was the perfect weekend. My parents rented a huge house so that we could all stay together and it was so much fun! Lucy got her own room and pretty much just lounged around at the pool for three days.

She also spent ample time in Grandma's lap eating her hat strings.
We ventured out to downtown Palm Springs one afternoon to check out the Art Walk. I believe Lucy was the only baby in town for the weekend so she suited up her chubby thighs and made lots of new friends in the 60-90 age set.
She is essentially living the life of a trophy wife and she hasn't even hit her first birthday yet.
Girl does not know how great she has it.

Outside of the trip to Palm Springs, we did check out the baby storytime at our local library and I am fairly confident we will become regulars. They do a bunch of stories and songs and then they let these little people go crazy all over the place. It is the funniest part of my whole week.
We hit up the beach a couple of times this past month since it seems to be vacillating between really chilly/rainy and waaaaaay too hot this winter. I feel really, really lucky to a) live so close to the beach, and b) have the option to go during the week when there is no one else around!

Yes, Lucy does own four bathing suits. She is a true beach bum babe.

Lucy also still loves eating and feeding herself aka grabbing the spoon mid-bite and creating a mess. Unfortunately, we have started to see more and more food aversions/allergies (??) arise. Despite the frustration of watching her struggle a bit with most baby cereals, we laugh that she can really eat any "P" foods. So far her diet consists of prunes, pears, peas, peaches, and potatoes.

Finally, something I want to remember:

Lucy and Matt have sung this "Little Black Raincloud" song from Winnie the Pooh since she was a newborn. She really, really loves it and without fail (so far) if we sing that song she gets really mellow and smiley and calms down. Recently, Matt took it a step further and showed her the video (above) and she just stopped and stared for the whole three minute clip. She does this every time that he turns it on! We have slowly changed the lyrics to "Lucy's a little black raincloud" and she just thinks she is the business with her own song. Hey, whatever works!

So that has been the past month with this sweet gal of ours. Here's to another month with Lulu!!

OH MY GOODNESS, this was a fun read!! My favorites..
Laying on the beach
AND
The fact that Kelly's daughter loves Pooh. That means she will REALLY loves Mom's old room at Julie Ann (which still sports a few POOH moments in Mom's honor!)
