This month we took our first family road trip to Sacramento - about an 8 hour drive. Lucy did so great. She slept at her regular nap times, played with mom and Lala when she was awake, and only cried for about 15 minutes of each way when she was hungry and needed us to stop. Seriously this gal is an awesome road-tripper!
We stopped in Atwater on our way to Sacramento to introduce Lucy to her Great-Mimi, and they just hit it off perfectly! Mimi and Lucy are pretty solid now.
Once in Sacramento, Lucy met nearly all of her cousins (we missed you Mark, Laurin, Emma, Max and Nathan!) and she was in hog heaven surrounded by all of these cute faces! She's ridiculous, and really, really loves being center of attention.
Lucy started sleeping through the night over Thanksgiving week in Sacramento, and she has mostly stayed that way with just a few nights of fussiness. We are fingers-crossed that it might stick for awhile, although as my friend says, "With a baby change is the only constant". No greater truth has ever been spoken.
We also started using our baby carrier a lot more often this month since Lucy is really, really strong with her head and neck now. She has helped us decorate the tree and has helped me bake all sorts of goodies. It's been super fun to see her little mind working out all of the new stimuli in the world.

I think the most surprising thing about Lucy is how quickly she learns things, and how she soaks up everything that goes on around her. I am realizing how swiftly the time with her passes and how fast she grows up. When I think about that she has only been here on earth for 16 weeks, it is mind-blowing to me that she is doing all she does. We wouldn't trade any of these moments for anything, and we can't even imagine what kinds of fun comes next!
