I am tired...so is my hubbs. Unfortunately, neither one of us are very kind when we are tired. Expect some grouchy Woodland's today. Why is the Woodland Clan to collectively tired, you ask??
Let's quickly review the activities of last night:
9:30pm- Kelly snuggles into her glorious bed with a book for a little relaxation time while Matt returns home from Basketball Game (which he won...cause he kicks Basketball Booty!)
10:00pm- Kelly is WAAAAY asleep, Matt is contentedly catching-up on his "Burn Notice" Watching.
11:00pm-3:00am- all quiet on the Western Front.
3:00am- Rudely awakened by "Random Drunk Men" attempting to break into the neighbor's car!! WHAT!!
3:05am- Kelly does her very best "Neighborhood Watch" impersonation, peering through the venetians at said pair of drunk men attempting to ransack neighbor's Civic.
3:06am- Drunk Man #1 begins to stumble around yelling things like, "she should have NEVER left me! I will get HIM for this!! One...Two...Three...CHARGE!!"
3:06:35 am- Kelly realizes that this is NOT going to stop without provocation, and places initial call to San Diego Police.
3:10am- no police yet.
3:11am-3:55am- "Random Drunk Men" yelling ceases, Kelly half-heartedly snoozes alongside the hubbs (who has SLEPT through this entire ordeal to this point)
3:56am- First sounds of front door handle jostling, window breaking attempts, and general Drunk Men shenanigans.
3:56:30am- Kelly calls San Diego Police AGAIN. Matt grabs baseball bat and heads to the front room. For the most part Matt is still sleep-walking!
3:57am-4:10am- Random Drunk Man #1 and #2 carry on with door-handle jostling, screen door flinging, front window knocking, and finally door-jam KICKING (seriously, these guys for SURE thought they were McGuyver-slash-Chuck Norris, and yet they couldn't figure out how to break into our SUPER SECURE FORTRESS of a condo...)
4:10am- San Diego Police arrive!! Woo Hoo!!!
4:11am- BACKUP San Diego Police Arrive
4:12am- THIRD SQUAD CAR filled with San Diego Police Arrive...seriously...how slow was this night, and yet they couldn't manage to send someone BEFORE I was wide-awake with a bashed-in door?!?
4:13am- Drunk Man #1 is lead away by Police while Drunk Man #2 is ushered into the NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR'S house, where he is currently "house sitting"...everyone should have heard the conversation between the 10 or so Police Officers and Drunk Man #2. It. Was. Hilarious.
4:14am- Kelly realizes that all hope of relaxing and much-needed sleep is lost and heads to the gym.
At this point we will fast-forward to now. Kelly and Matt are both exhausted, but somehow can't WAIT to get home and face the "Burglar" from the wee hours of the morning. I seriously hope he is embarrassed...he sure is lucky that these two "Superheroes" went easy on him!
Just another night in the ghetto...you know. La Jolla.

This sounds like my ultimate nightmare. I would rather get my sleep than 1 million dollars. How horrible. You are a better person than I for having a good attitude.
Hilarious! It probably wasn't to you in the wee a.m. hours though. Glad everything ended up ok (minus your door)

Yikes. Were they trying to break down your door? Scary. La Jolla IS SUCH A DUMP! You need to come up here where the wealthy live.
