{A side of} Brother time!

One of the best things about coming to DC for work is having
a brother that lives just down the road in Virginia!
{Just darling!}
My brother Clark and his super-fun girlfriend Meredith made the trip to my humble abode not once, but twice this weekend to take me out on the town and share an insider's perspective on some of the unique experiences that Washington DC has to offer!

We started out our weekend at Clark and Mere's favorite restaurant Finemondo in the heart of Downtown Washington right down the block from the White House.
My tour guides were insistent that we go there mainly because it has delicious food, but specifically because it has an exceptional Torta di Ricotta
{Ricotta Cheesecake!?! YES PLEASE!!}
{Hungry Family}
After digging into my awesome seared ahi over fava beans, some of Clark's baked lasagna, and some of Meredith's pancetta and pea pasta it was time to experience this epic dessert. We all looked at the dessert menu, but really knew that in the end it would be the Torta di Ricotta all around.
It was awesome!
Better than promised, if that is possible??

One random thing did happen during dessert. As our food was coming out, this cart also showed up right beside our table:
{Like a lactose baby}
Yes, that is an entire wheel of CHEESE!
One that we, of course, did not order but that didn't stop us from noticing it! Meredith was about to take a chisel and hammer to the thing, and we were just dying laughing when on the way out
{just to be sure it was the real deal!}
I snuck a peek under the blanket covering the wheel while Mere inhaled deeply and softly pet the cheese wheel...oh goodness we are not to be trusted.

Post-dinner shenanigans were quickly pulled together by our resident Military Man {Clark} who wanted to show me this place at the top of the W hotel in Downtown. I am SO glad that he did! This restaurant/bar/club overlooks the White House and the National Treasury!
{Not the greatest picture, but this was our view}

Straight shot looking down on one really unique sight. This place was also really, really cool-not to mention realllllly good for people watching!
We ended up talking with a few of the suits from "The Hill".

***NOTE***
I know that Hill-people are all sooooo important,
but whenever someone says they work "On The Hill" it makes me a little stabby.

This night was such a fun beginning to the weekend,
but after wrapping things up around midnight,
{It's meeee...on a Metro!}
 ...and being a tad sketchy on the Metro back to the hotel, it was time for us to get some sleep...we had even BIGGER plans in store for Saturday!
